How www.pangeamade.com uses cookies and similar technologies

This Cookie Policy applies to www.pangeamade.com and any web pages and online features that link to or reference it (the “Site”).

Published by Pangea Made, Inc., 2920 Waterview Drive, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309, USA. Questions or choices: [email protected] or Cookie Preferences (Site footer).

This Cookie Notice and Cookie Policy (this “Cookie Policy”) explains how Pangea Made, Inc. and its affiliates (“Pangea,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) use cookies and similar technologies when you visit the Site, what those technologies are, the categories and specific technologies we use, the purposes and legal bases for using them, and how you can control them.

This Cookie Policy supplements, and should be read together with, our Global Website Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal information more generally and your related rights. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Global Website Privacy Policy.

1. Introduction and Scope

The Site is a single, English-language website operated by Pangea Made, Inc. and directed to a business and professional audience. Like most websites, the Site uses cookies and similar technologies to function, to remember your choices, to understand how the Site is used, and to support our marketing and advertising. Where we use these technologies to collect information that identifies you or that is linked or reasonably linkable to you or your device, that information is “personal information” and is also subject to our Global Website Privacy Policy.

Because the Site is accessible worldwide, this Cookie Policy is designed to meet the requirements of the cookie, e-privacy, and data-protection laws of the jurisdictions in which our visitors are located, including the EU e-Privacy rules and the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, and applicable U.S. state privacy laws. Where those laws require your prior consent, we obtain it as described in Section 7.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

“Cookies” are small text files that a website places on your computer or device and that are returned to the website (or to a third party that set them) on subsequent visits. We and our providers also use other, related technologies that function similarly. In this Cookie Policy, we refer to all of them together as “Cookies.” They include:

  • First-party and third-party cookies — first-party cookies are set by Pangea through the Site; third-party cookies are set by a party other than Pangea (for example, Google, LinkedIn, YouTube, or Vimeo) to enable analytics, advertising and measurement, or embedded content;
  • Session and persistent cookies — session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them;
  • Pixels, tags, and web beacons — small pieces of code or tiny graphic images (sometimes called “pixel tags,” “clear GIFs,” or “web beacons”) embedded in web pages or emails that allow us and our providers to read and set cookies, record activity such as page views and clicks, and measure the effectiveness of content and campaigns (for example, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Google tags);
  • Local and session storage and software development kits (SDKs) — mechanisms that store information locally in your browser or through embedded software components;
  • Server logs — records automatically generated by our hosting infrastructure, which may include your IP address, request data, and timestamps; and
  • Embedded content technologies — cookies and similar technologies set by providers of content embedded in the Site, such as Vimeo and YouTube video players, when you interact with that content.

3. Why We Use Cookies

We use Cookies to: (a) operate, deliver, and secure the Site and its core features; (b) remember your preferences and settings and provide enhanced functionality; (c) measure and analyze how the Site is found and used so that we can maintain and improve it; and (d) plan, deliver, and measure our marketing, communications, and advertising, including on professional and social-media platforms. The specific purposes for each category are described in Section 4, and the specific Cookies we use are listed in Section 5.

4. Categories of Cookies We Use

We group the Cookies we use into the categories below. For each category, the table states the purpose, whether the category is subject to your consent or opt-out, and the legal basis on which we rely for visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland. You can manage the optional categories at any time through our Cookie Preferences tool (see Section 7). The categories below are descriptive; the specific Cookies within each category — with their providers and expected durations — are set out in the current Cookie Declaration described in Section 5, which our consent-management platform keeps up to date.

Category Purpose Your control Legal basis (EEA/UK/CH)
Strictly Necessary Enable core Site functions such as page loading, navigation, security, network management, load balancing, and remembering your cookie choices. The Site cannot function properly without these. Always active (cannot be switched off) Legitimate interests / necessary for the service you request
Preferences / Functional Remember choices you make (such as language or region) and provide enhanced, personalized features. Opt-in / opt-out Consent
Analytics / Performance Help us understand how visitors find and use the Site — for example, which pages are most visited, how visitors move through the Site, and whether errors occur — so we can measure and improve performance. Opt-in / opt-out Consent
Advertising / Targeting Measure and support our marketing and advertising, including measuring campaign performance, building and reaching professional audiences on platforms such as LinkedIn, and limiting how often you see a message. May involve a “sale,” “share,” or “targeted advertising” under certain U.S. state laws (see Section 8). Opt-in / opt-out Consent
Embedded Media Enable embedded video players (Vimeo, YouTube) and related functionality; set by the media provider when you interact with the content. Opt-in / opt-out Consent

5. Cookies Currently Used on the Site

The specific Cookies used on the Site — including their names, providers, whether they are first- or third-party, their purposes, and their expected durations — are set out in our Cookie Declaration. The Cookie Declaration is generated and kept up to date automatically by our consent-management platform (Cookiebot), and is available on this page and through the “Cookie Preferences” link in the Site footer. We use an automatically generated, continuously updated declaration rather than a fixed list so that this information remains accurate as the Cookies used on the Site change over time.

The Cookie Declaration organizes Cookies into the categories described in Section 4 — Strictly Necessary, Preferences / Functional, Analytics / Performance, Advertising / Targeting, and Embedded Media — and reflects your current choices, which you can review and change at any time through the Cookie Preferences tool. Any durations shown in the Cookie Declaration are expected durations and are approximate, as explained in Section 10.

6. Third-Party Analytics and Advertising

We use third-party analytics, advertising, and measurement providers to help us understand and improve the Site and to plan, deliver, and measure our marketing. These providers may set their own Cookies and may combine information they collect through the Site with information they collect through other websites and services, in accordance with their own privacy policies. The categories of providers we may use include web-analytics providers, search- and professional-network advertising and measurement providers, and providers of embedded media such as video-hosting services. The particular providers we use may vary and may change from time to time; the specific third-party Cookies in use at any given time are identified in the Cookie inventory generated by our consent-management platform and available through the Cookie Preferences tool.

You can manage or opt out of third-party analytics and advertising Cookies in a number of ways, which may include using our Cookie Preferences tool, adjusting your browser settings, using the privacy and advertising settings offered by the relevant providers, and using industry opt-out mechanisms — for example, those made available by the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Network Advertising Initiative, and, in Europe, Your Online Choices. Some analytics and advertising providers also make available their own opt-out tools, such as browser add-ons. Where we provide links to third-party tools or policies, they are offered for your convenience only; Pangea does not control, and is not responsible for, third-party websites, tools, or practices. For example, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors engage with the Site. You can learn more about Google’s practices by visiting their Privacy & Terms page, and you can opt out of Google Analytics by downloading the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available athttps://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.”

7. Your Choices and How to Manage Cookies

You can control Cookies in several ways. Except for Strictly Necessary Cookies, we place optional Cookies only in accordance with your choices and applicable law.

  • Cookie Preferences tool — you can accept or reject categories of optional Cookies, and change your choices at any time, using our consent banner and the “Cookie Preferences” link in the Site footer, which opens our consent-management tool (Cookiebot);
  • Region-based consent — where required by applicable law (for example, in the EEA and the UK), non-essential Cookies are placed only after you opt in through the banner, and you may withdraw your consent at any time through the Cookie Preferences tool. Where applicable law permits notice-and-opt-out, you may opt out through the same tool;
  • Browser controls — most browsers let you block or delete Cookies and warn you before Cookies are set; consult your browser’s help resources. If you block Strictly Necessary Cookies, parts of the Site may not function properly;
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC) and opt-out preference signals — where required by applicable law, our Site recognizes the GPC signal; if your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of the “sale”/“sharing” of personal information and disable Advertising/Targeting Cookies for that browser or device; and
  • Mobile and platform controls — you can reset or limit ad identifiers and manage ad personalization through your device settings and through the platform settings of providers such as Google and LinkedIn.

Because your choices are stored in a Cookie (and are specific to the browser and device you use), you may need to renew your choices if you use a different browser or device, or if you delete your Cookies.

8. “Sale,” “Sharing,” Targeted Advertising, and U.S. State Law

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of certain Advertising/Targeting Cookies (such as the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Google and LinkedIn advertising tags) may, depending on configuration, constitute a “sale,” a “share,” or “targeted advertising” of identifiers and internet-activity information under certain U.S. state privacy laws, even without an exchange of money. You may opt out of these activities by rejecting Advertising/Targeting Cookies through our Cookie Preferences tool, by using the “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the Site footer. For more information about these rights, see the United States Addendum in our Global Website Privacy Policy. We do not knowingly use Advertising/Targeting Cookies to “sell” or “share” the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

9. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There is no consistent industry or legal standard for recognizing and responding to DNT signals. Except for the Global Privacy Control signal described in Section 7, which we honor where required by applicable law, the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. We will update this Cookie Policy if our practices change.

10. How Long Cookies Last

The length of time a Cookie remains on your device depends on whether it is a session or persistent Cookie and on the period set by us or the relevant third party. The expected durations shown in the tables in Section 5 are approximate and may vary; a Cookie’s actual lifespan may be shorter or longer, including where a session is extended or a third party resets or renews the Cookie. Session Cookies generally expire when you close your browser; persistent Cookies generally expire after the applicable period or when you delete them. The personal information we collect through Cookies is a separate matter from the life of the Cookie, and may be retained for longer periods in accordance with the retention principles and periods described in our Global Website Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and post the revised Cookie Policy on the Site. Where the changes are material, we will, where practicable, provide additional and more prominent notice on the Site (for example, through the cookie banner or a notice on this page) and, where required by applicable law, obtain your renewed consent before the changes take effect. We encourage you to revisit this page and our Cookie Preferences tool periodically to stay informed about our use of Cookies.
