IPs and door panels were used across models as a canvas for graphic and textural details that tell the story of the CMF vision for the vehicle brand & customer. VW Atlas had a very special illuminated logo seen flush, through the veneer. GMC Denali showcased a placed quilting design and etched veneer with a delicate textural pattern. The Hummer EV had a technical fabric spread across the door panel with a large deboss logo.

Interior: Fabrics

While there were very few fabrics seen at NAIAS this year, the few that were there were intended for technical performance, enhanced with welding, or had upscale woven textures and were paired with leather. The Ford Bronco Sport had a unique edition with colorful stripes, reminiscent of a sunrise. Fiat 500X had a monochromatic woven with aaccent center stripe, paired with leather. The Chevy Trailblazer in the RS& Activ trim levels used fabric as textural accent to leather, or as a technical material accented with a sporty rubber tag.

Showcase Vehicle

Showcase Vehicle: Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4XE Departure Conecpt

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4XE Departure Concept was a great example of what real leather can be in a vehicle. They trimmed with a leather that was minimally finished and showcased leather’s natural beauty. This vehicle is meant to be rugged and used outdoors, so this choice exemplifies how natural leather has qualities that are durable, long lasting, and much like the roads we drive on, connected to nature.
