China OEM Luxury Leather Seat

Geometric patterns were used to give the impression & expression of a tech vibe.

Gradations were coordinated with the designs seen in other parts of the exterior and interior. Often seen to express a high-quality tech feeling.

Diamond patterns continue to be used as an authentic premium expression. An iconic design as a traditional expression of luxury.

Striped and linear patterns are seen in various expressions including organic & asymmetrical.

Geometric quilting patterns are similar to perforations of this aesthetic; giving the impression of a tech feeling. This strong trend continues to be present, with a focus on visual cues that complement seat shape.

Geometric patterns and accents seen in decorative expressions are used to heighten sense of luxury.

There were many blue-based exterior colors, and in some models, designers choose to echo the blue in the interior. The blue & beige combination creates a sense of sustainability.

Instrument panels and door trims were decorated with various geometric patterns. The printing technology has improved and quality increased.

NIO wood grain is of very high quality. The gloss and straight pattern of the wood have a very beautiful luxury aesthetic. HYUNDAI MUFASA embossed fabric-like pattern has a special delicate design and high-quality finish.

Many wood grains were seen in the luxury models to enhance the higher trim levels to stand out.

Door panels with combinations of geometric, textural materials, and placed patterns.

Genesis G90 showcases a combination of traditional Korean inlay technique with a sustainable panel made from scraps generated when making furniture and waste paper from daily life.

Hyundai vehicle doors stood out at the show challenging various traditional design expressions. The most impressive thing was the exterior door handles, with exquisite and beautiful decorations like jewelry. It was an effective draw that would make the people who ride in the car feel elevated.

Large presence of blue and green exterior colors. In addition, purple was often seen as a metaverse or futuristic color.

Matte paint was seen in various car models to give a masculine, tech, or futuristic impression.

Two tone exteriors were surprising to see at the show, as this is a new and not very common trend.

Neon colors, chroma flares, and teal colors were attention grabbing and impressive; reminiscent of the metaverse and video gaming.

We are still seeing a strong presence of beige & pink combinations targeted towards the Chinese female market. ORA’s, one of Great Wall Motor’s brands, Good Cat model ranks fourth in sales in the subcompact car category. About 8,000 units were sold in May 2023. Included in their display was a show booth where visitors could experience nail art and fragrance. The displays were decorated with many flowers decorated and drew a crowd of their targeted audience.

GAC SPACE Model was announced last year. While the exterior exudes hi-tech aesthetic, the interior is all about China culture. Inspired by Guangzhou‘s famous landmarks of mountains and rivers, the design expresses the atmosphere of oriental culture and a sense of modern elegance. SPACE is equipped with GAC’s autonomous driving system, allowing drivers to sit back and relax during the journey.

Hongqi is an elevated luxury brand developed by FAWLS7 Model launched last summerIt has an interior and exterior are inspired by Rolls Royce and is priced at 30 million yen. The interior uses a large volume of leather and wood grain HQ9 Hongqi’s first MVP vehicle. The interior uses a large volume ofleather and wood grain.

BAIC’s concept car YUE showcases a unique combination of retro style and futuristic design. A concept that defines a new vision for the future of mobility. Bamboo was used for the floor and door trim, and traditional bamboo crafts were placed on the seat backs. Trumpchi (GAC)_E9 GAC M8 interior diversion showcased a red interior and leather seats.

The camping boom in China continues, especially in urban areas, and several displays were designed to create a camping atmosphere simulating the outdoor trend and demand for cars. Other booth displays focused on incorporating nature. Hongqi booth: Tempered glass or acrylic was laid out on real moss, which our team found beautiful and impressive.

A few companies designed displays that were meant to impress visitors by providing an experience rather than showcasing their vehicles. The Polestar display had 80,000 tulips laid out. Not only was this impressive visually, but also with the smell of flowers surrounding platform showcasing the vehicle. However, because of the tulips, it was difficult to get up close to see the vehicle. Ora offered nail and fragrance experiences. Geely group had a planting experience. LYNK&CO’s display took a bar or club aesthetic with its overall blue gradation. Inside the exhibit, there were gaming experiences, an art exhibition, stylish coffee shop, and staff was dressed in uniforms that created a modern and young style sense. It was a booth that proposed culture, fashion and lifestyle through LYNK & CO models.

DENZA D9 EV (Joint investment by BYD and Mercedes). This model was released last year as a competitor to the Alphard, which is popular in China for VIP business use. The interior is luxurious and leather is used in high volume. IM Airo EV This very unique design was created by Heatherwick Studios in London. It was announced with a similar concept model in Shanghai two years ago. Expected to go into mass production in 2024. The car has a HEPA filter that can pick up polluted air from other cars while driving.

Lexus LM Launches in 2023. The interior and exterior were simple, yet sophisticated, and high quality of materials, trimming and design choicescould be seen. Audi Urbansphere Concept. This interior was made of the highest quality materials. Wood, wool, and synthetic fibers are used for panels, seat materials, and floor carpets. Many of the materials used in the interior, such as the hornbeam veneer, are sourced from sustainable resources. No chemical are used in the manufacturing process.

Yang Wang U8 (BYD’s Luxury brand). Starts at $210,000. All seats used brown nappa leather. Accented with embossed leather with a woven pattern. Sales start in the second half of 2023. AVATR 011 MMW crossover. A model created by the designer of the luxury apparel brand Givenchy, Matthew Williams, who was invited as adesign director. Released in 2022 Limited edition, only 500 vehicles created Nappa leather richly stitched NUPRIMA matte leather.

And I am very interested in ZEEKER design, so I picking up this brand. Zeeker was founded just two years ago, it rocked the China EV market with its unique style. The design is by a European designer, and the design studio is in Sweden. They are currently planning toenter the EU market. (Geely: owns Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Smart, Lynk & Co). The biggest differentiator from other brands is their approach to design. The premium appearance is expressed in an atmosphere different from that of typical luxury. The concept is that boring EVs are no longer needed. Zeeker XIt proposes a new position as apremium compact car. Scheduled to be put on the market soon. Taking the design stance that “originality is justice”, it is said that it has pursued a new beauty of compact cars. Zeeker 009I think it’s very good that the design is different from other models with a unique approach.

Geely launched their high-end premium brand, “Galaxy” this year. The brand plans to develop seven hybrid and EV models in the next two years. The Galaxy Light concept car andtheir L7 model were released in February 2023. The “Galaxy Light” is a model that is inspired by the Chinese sense of beauty and culture and but takes a new approach into a very high level of modern luxury design. We especially see this in the interior, where they are clearly trying to differentiate it from a simple design like Tesla. Interior materials include wood grain and leather.
