Location: Rochester Hills, Michigan

Pangea is a premier global provider of leather upholstery for automotive seating and trim, and supplies many of the world’s major OEM’s, including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Stellantis, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, and Mercedes among others.

JOB REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Design

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Description

• Collaborates with global cross-functional teams comprised of designers, engineers, sales, and marketing to contribute to and support the development of superior automotive leather products.
• Supports our JOEM design customers through design and advanced sales by building customer relationships and becoming their trusted advisor.
• Focus on specific JOEM customers and programs to help drive company sales.
• Responsible for creating enrichment designs from concepts to prototypes to production.
• Responsible for creating and promoting Pangea’s sustainability initiatives.
• Work closely with product development engineers to obtain customer design approvals and mastering.
• Present trend shows and design briefs to customers.
• Research global trends and technologies, help drive innovation.
• Responsible for design project management duties including tracking projects, action items, and timing.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree required, major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines highly preferred.
• Minimum of three years of related automotive experience, preferred JOEM.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently on an assignment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
